Davis Food Coop just won a (very hard to get) 2011 AIGA MN Design Show award for the Davis Food Coop brand design!

Hello Davis Coop Folks!
Bija - please forward this to the rest of the Davis Food Coop Crew.
We just got the news that the Davis Food Coop just won
a (very hard to get) 2011 AIGA MN Design Show award for
the Davis Food Coop brand design!
I've spent the morning sending out the news, So you
already may have seen the news about P6 winning. Biija,
This is a very honored design award for us and more
notably for Davis Food Coop. I've been a member of
AIGA for 20 years - a great organization. Here is
a list of the other winners.
If you look at the other winners, you see a lot of multinational
brands with virtually unlimited budgets. What these clients lack
that Davis has is a clearly defined organization mission of justice and equity.
You also can see that no other grocery brands are winning design awards.
That is something we certainly notice.
Well, with the exception of the Seward Coop of course.
Oh yeah! and P6!
This award speaks volumes to the partnership, trust, and faith that
Davis has put into it's brand AND it's brand design. This brand project
was a PROACTIVE move against TWO multinational grocery brands
moving into the Davis community. The fact that you have achieved your
best year yet for your membership drive in 2010 is amazing. Even more
amazing in that you have level growth in the face of nearly
Armageddon market competition in a small market of 65K people.
The opening of a Super Target AND a Trader Joe's would be
a company killer for many other Coops - But not the Davis Food Coop
Take a bow, my Davis friends.
It is an honor to mirror the Davis Coop brand design with high
level of excellence that you set for yourselves everyday as an organization.
