SKYDIVING WITH CATHY SPECK for ALS Awareness

Skydivers:

You have the option of jumping from 13,000 or 9,000 feet and of having someone videotape your jump (for $99). Cathy is jumping from 13,000. First time jumpers are required to jump tandem with an expert skydiver. They'll pull the parachute cord for you if you want them to or they'll teach you how to do it.

Be sure to call (530-753-2651) and make reservations beforehand, and mention Cathy Speck and ALS to get the group discount. A $25 deposit is required and will apply toward your total skydiving payment, which will be somewhere around $150. If you haven't already done the training, you need to arrive by 10:30 so that you can do the training.

Eat a good breakfast and wear comfortable clothes. Don't wear open-toed shoes or heavy boots with long laces that might get tangled. Sudafed or nasal spray might help keep passageways open so that your ears don't hurt while you're skydiving. Drink water but please don't get scared and pee your pants because we all have to slide along the same bench in the airplane and that would be gross.

SPECKtators

There's a picnic area and campgrounds near where the skydivers land and anyone can come and watch for free. It's $20 if you want to go up in the airplane with the skydivers and that's only if there's room in the plane. We'll have a little party before, during, and after the jumps.
