Co-ops, Building Community Daily!

Howdy hi! This/Sunday at noon, I’m going to the Yolo airport to talk with the skydiving folks. Anyone want to join
me? This is just to check out the scene. We'll be doing the
diving/ jumping/flying on April 11th, Sunday at about noon.
If you want to go, I need to know ASAP so I can let Skydance know. And they can
make sure they have enough instructors there. ? You skydive with your
instructor kind of piggy back, and they take good care of you. . All
you have to do is enjoy the flight. You can check them out online at Skydance
skydiving Yolo balh balh balh typo typo Google it!

here is the info - ---

As of today - - April 11 is pretty open for a group to jump.Skydance would like
as much advance notice as possible in order to schedule enough jumpmasters
& camera people to handle everyone. If you go to this link you will see the
group rates.
http://www.skydance.net/tandem_skydiving/tandem_skydiving_group.htm

In order to secure a reservation, they need a $25 deposit for each person. That
of course is not a huge issue - mostly we need to arrive at a total number of
jumpers. (The link has the prices & discounts available for groups).

Ok.. here are my recommendations - the cheapest tandem is $160 & drops
jumpers at 9,000 ft. The best bang for your buck jump is the 13,000 ft jump at
$199.( They have an 18,000 ft jump but that is too hard for most people to
process & prohibitively expensive).
Video is available for an additional $99. So as you can see, this is not a real
'cheap' thrill & may affect how many folks can actually afford to jump.

How it works ....you show up on jump day & go thru a class which takes
about an hour, view a video & sign your life away on the dotted line ...
then they schedule folks according to how high they are going, availability of
photographers,etc....

Classes can be scheduled at 8am,10:30am,noon & 1:30pm for large groups.
Obviously, the earlier your class the sooner you will be jumping. You should plan
on from 2-4 hrs at the drop zone if you are in an early class, more time if you
are in a later class.

They have a concession stand available on weekends so food/drink is available.I
recommend you bring an ice chest & plenty of water,Gatorade or the
like.Plan a picnic if you like!

Important ! You MUST eat the morning you are gonna jump - the adrenaline will
really tax your body - -too many folks think they will barf & don't
eat...then they get light-headed or sick because they didn't eat - that will
just ruin the experience.Trust me on this one - - you need your energy to have
BIG FUN !

Clothing should be whatever you are comfortable in - these days shorts &
t-shirts are adequate because you are going to be wearing a jumpsuit anyway.

I recommend you pop 1 or 2 Sudafed a few hrs prior to jumping - it will
alleviate the pressure that can build up from the rapid altitude loss. First
time jumpers often complain about the pressure in their ears- again I speak
from experience & am trying to mitigate any discomfort so you can
focus on the fun.
